bad running race suzuky swift 1.3
Engine was running on 3.5 cyls at idle and progression. Then when main started, engine was ok.
Excluding mechanical problems and without air leaks on induction, I concentrated the attention on carbs. Balance was near ok (with vaacum gauge mounted on trumpets). But cyl 1 seemed not having fuel enough, no matter the screw mixture.
Traced finally due to a bad casting on the carb port used to fit the vaacum nipples to adjust the carb balancing/mixtures.
The brass screw plug was not sealing correctly due to uneven rectified surface. A pressured air jet through the idle mixture discovered this, air was escaping on both trumpet and the supposed sealing screw.
Now customer is very happy. He always lived with a bad running engine at idle
