FIA Group 2 Fiesta info request
Hello to all,
I am considering the build of a replica Group 2 Fiesta as used on the 1979 Monte Carlo rally.
As I understand things the group 2 car was homologated by the FIA under papers 1686 and 5065, I have managed to download 1689 but am unable to find 5065, does anyone have a set they could share with me?
One thing that puzzles me...
As far as I know the works engine used a pair of twin side draft carbs (probably Weber?) however in the paper 1689 it shows only a single twin choke down draft. Can one only use what is shown on the homologation paper or are carbs free in group 2? .... or perhaps these are shown as a variant in paper 5065?
Any information or advice most welcome.

FIA 1686 is the GP2 homologation, check that you have the latest version with all appendix's.
FIA 5065 is for GPA starting 1982.

Re: FIA Group 2 Fiesta info request
Thanks for the advice chaps.
I didn't realize the group 2 homologation transferred to group A, does any one have a copy of 5065 I could look at before I order from the MSA.
I tried here http://web.archive.org/web/20050310164651/http://www.dasu.dk/Historiske-Homologeringsattester/GrA-5001-5294/ but the link times out.

Re: FIA Group 2 Fiesta info request
Do you have a copy of the ford build manual for the fiesta? Basically the same as the well known Escort build manual. Some useful info but obviously a bit more limited as most bits are hard to find now. I do/did have a copy somewhere... currently lost though...

Re: FIA Group 2 Fiesta info request
The build continues albeit after a long period of inactivity.
I purchased the homologation papers from the MSA, I was somewhat surprised/horrified to see that when the car was transferred to group A the dry sump system was outlawed as per group A rules.
Question;
Is it possible to obtain an FIA HTP in group 2 spec or am I obliged to follow the group A specification?
