Hi fellows I am wanting to change to my 205 block Pinto 2.0 ltr engine head and put a 1.6 Pinto head. Is this a straightaway job ? Do I need to put a 2.0 or a 1.6 cam belt ?
Kind advices will be very much thanked

Early 1600 belt needed...what are you doing with the valves...cheers mark
By the way Mark, this change of heads I'm planning to do is a wise one ? Let me have your advice about this matter too
Thanks again Mark
Cheers

Will be mega high compression, what are you doing to the bottom end and what cam are you going to run?
Well mates, it has a Piper 285 cam, forged pistons, 2 weber 45/45, and that's all. Its intender to be used at a maximum of 6 to 6.5 K RPM. I purchased this head long time ago and want to use it now cause the 2.0 ltr one is damaged. Also to have some more C/R. Is it too much ? maybe I can use a thicker gasket
Tks for your kind advices
Eduardo
Assuming your forged Pistons would give 9:1 on a standard 2.0 head you'll get something like 11:1 with the 1.6 head.
Hi mate...yes i used 46mm inlet with 38 exhaust...it is a high compresion head...but you can reduce compresion when unshrouding the valves...i even had to have my head skimmed after unshrouding to get the compresion back up.......10.5:1 should be about spot on after unshrouding the valves...cheers mark...remember the valves are longer on the 1600 head...so if you are using valves from the 2.0 ..they will be short ....you could use valve lash caps...ive never used them ,seemed a bit of a bodge...i ended up finding some valves from the states the correct length..but the stem size was not the same...so i made my guides to suit...cheers mark
the 1600 does have a better port angle/thicker short turn, but the difference isnt huge.
rec do group1 valves in 1600 length which are a good move if you are going big valve
