MINT Mk1 Capri 1969 rollin shell 4 sale!

Ok, i have had a change of plans !

This is the best mk1 capri ive ever seen in 20yrs it was dry stored and completly striped to restore by its last owner.

I bought it not long ago with the intention of fitting 24v cossie in ,its currently got a 350 small block chevy in situ althought nothing has been cut or altered inany way, it comes with boxs full of parts all labelled by last owner.

Its a 1.6 ohv and ive been guarenteed its mileage of 53k is original

It has had new sills pro fitted and small patches on inner rear archs, the floor is already detailed and painted has NEVER had inner wings touched and is very very soild, front wing has a small dent no rot the shell has been stripped back to bare metal inc door edges /boot edges ect, doors boot are exellent with no rot/havnt been repaired.

It has 6j chrome rostyles fitted (original radio) interior is black good condition front carpet missing. all glass is there bumpers etc 2grills, lights all in boxs.

I am desperate to get another 2 door mk1 tina and have an opertunity to import a mint one from south africa , this is the only reason this is for sale.

Im looking for £825.00 ono based on what parts fetch for this model and the condition its in i think that its a genuine price for an exellent base car, no sunroof cut in roof rare!

Cheers bro yeh would be a dream to find a tina mk1 in this condition would never sell her!
Thought id have a bit more interest so fixin the price at £750.00 see if theres any more interest , considering ive been offered £100 a door if i break it which i DONT want to do, and ive seen wings advertised at £95.+ think £750 is abargain!!!!!!!!

Thanks Dave have these stupid ideas like droppin price!!!!
It has original inner sills, and rear archs (how rares that! ) CHASSIS is amazin ,dropped a goolie on price so if it goes really soon some one has got it for less than i paid and had to pay to deliver it and to strip it ?
If any one is interested out of curiosity thay can come have look with pleasure kettles always on (northern folkes) always hospitable.

Harvey all glass is there evreything else is in boxes, engine box prop,exhaust,seats door panels, new brake pipes etc in a box,lights,electrics loom, loads of bottles with labelles on bolts etc.
Apart from me bare metalling it its as i bought it not long ago.
Im based in stoke but if it sells im collecting a car from down south so could deliver if you go halves on cost.

I thought we had a deal on this? You mailed me an offer at 3.55pm and I responded at 5.45 and accepted the offer contained in your PM. I suggested a deposit by paypal, and two telephone numbers so we could have a chat regarding logistics! The next I hear from you is that it is sold to Dave Roberts?

I have been on a number of internet forums for many years. Take Blatchat which is the Lotus seven forum. There is a certain etiquette which means that if an offer is made, it is good (honored) until the person who receives that offer responds. Of course, there is an expectation that this should be in a 'reasonable' timeframe. I received an offer from you and responded in less than two hours by accepting that offer! Surely it would not have been unreasonable to have other interested parties on standby for a short period of time whilst you honored your offer? I am sure Dave Roberts would not have been unhappy with that?

Anyway, just wanted to understand what happened! Not necessarily expecting anything to change,(although I will still stand by my acceptance of your offer as I would like to purchase) I am mearly pointing out that there is a certain expectation on my part as to how these things are conducted!

i shall not say too much on this, except its very easily for emails and pms to cross, and only diddy will know the exact order they arrived in, but anyway
i feel further comments should be done as PM's not in public.

irrispective of whoever had the most right to buy the car i feel its top marks to DIDDY for selling at an affordable price, my gut feeling is that lot is worth more like £2000 than the asking price i know i would of happily paid that if i had either the space or money, so many cars and projects dont go to the most deserving homes because the seller looks for every last penny for them

no dissrespect to anyone else but personally i cant think of a more deserving new owner for this car than dave roberts, and we all know that the capri will be brought back to its former glory in daves hands and in full view of the world on turbosport

All i can say is i was in a situation that i needed to deal with quickly and an offer is only that an offer untill i have payment as Dave was in a position to pay cash and fetch himself tommorrow i made the decision to take his offer , i understand fully what your saying but at the time i didnt no if you would accept the price as you started of by saying you had a fixed price alot lower at first and didnt want to go any higher as you had too many toys and your mrs was giving you ear ache!
Plus i needed answer as regards delivery and at £80.00 to deliver to you from stoke was half what im paying thought i was going out of my way to accomadate the deal.
I had to pre book a trailer so had to move fast, it wasnt my intention to cause any bad feeling and if i have i apologize to you .
Dave contacted me straight away by p/m and rang me soon after.
The senario could have gone like this :
You said you wouldnt pay my higher price and walk away.
I tell dave cant let him have car till spoke to you he then says its an offer now take or leave it say sorry (LOOSE) offer, then i have lost two buyers so i cant win!
Hope you understand it was a cheap car sold at a loss to me and i needed to make the decision there and then .

I am just dissapointed with the way it ended up! I actually don't even blame you Diddy as you clearly just wanted it sold and so probably didn't think things through. However, there needs to be a certain selling etiquette that we agree on this site to save this from happening again!

I will have a muse on this and nick ideas from other forums and propose this to all for comment.

Money talks at the end of the day. I buy and sell a lot of cars. Its always a case of a deposit or the full amount parting hands before it can be classed as sold.

I am not trying to take sides here - just saying how I understand the world works.
