    Burette for cc,ing heads

    Just made a holder for the new burette
    works a treat
    held in the mill chuck or drill chuck
    burette bought from
    BetterEquipped for £6.00
    well cheap
    I used parafin but its a bit sticky
    will tyr water like Graham says

    i tend to put some antifreeze in the water these days, makes it much easier to read/see

    Water will have more meniscus / 'stickiness' than paraffin. A drip of food colouring in the fluid will assist clarity also a drip or two of detergent in the paraffin will reduce the effect.

    I seem to remember that an old friend of mine just used a engine oil, thinned down with a bit of wd40 or something similar. I maybe wrong though, I remember him buretting my head head for me, long time ago now though so I'm not sure.

    Think I also read somewhere you can use red wine, something to do with it's density. Does that sound feasible?


    Lol. The whole process was a far beyond my capabilities though. I was in awe watching him do it, and working out the compression ratio.

    What's the bonus of a holder? I just use a medical syringe by hand
