Re: Live Mapping Cosworth ECUs - A How To

    27psi at the moment
The key is to have "low" ignition.
And AFR 13 is only possible with livemapping on the road. If you are on the dyno the engine does not get the same afr with the same map, itīs much richer and still makes the most power then.
Have not found the reason why yet ... Probably something with the wind speed?

Think you are right. I am roadmapping to.

Only my bin with closed loop has some sort of checksum in it.
You have any idea where to disable this ?

Re: Live Mapping Cosworth ECUs - A How To

Looked into the .bin and didnīt find any obvious checksum correction. (Im not that good at the assembler language )
Try increase one value with 1 hex and reduce another value with 1 hex. If the car starts then it is a checksum correction involved.
I have made these tricks on other cars with checksum correction on them and i didnīt find how the correction counted or didnīt know where the value was stored.

Re: Live Mapping Cosworth ECUs - A How To

    Have you found it Clint?

I tried the .BIN to day on my car , and i can say that itīs NOT a standard checksum calculation. If i change the values so a standard checksum calc would be happy this one is not ...

BTW does this .BIN have datacomm activated? I tried my datacomm logger with it but it didnīt work.
Iīm looking for a .BIN that has datacomm activated so i can calibrate my 5bar map-sensor

Hi Clint, you mention that you have a P8 tuneable by only a RS232 lead... Very interested. Do you have details of the setup that you are running to achieve this?
I have a P8 running a MSD stage 3 with wasted spark from the ecu (not their daughter board). I am also running a T25 inlet and TB, along with the T25 TPS, so am currently running without the ISCV fitted. I would like to do all the live mapping myself from the stage that I am at. Obviously the MSD chip sits on an encryption board, so where am I best starting?
    Cheers

You need a Moates Ostrich 2 - I can un-encrypt the chip for you and tell you where the checksumms are for a small fee you can then remap the software you have.

Brilliant Clint, I shall get the kit along with the AFR plumbed in and then I shall be paying you a visit

Certainly is a better solution than paying alot of money and upset just to go aftermarket as the P8 is so good

to remove checksum test on P8 ECU just change value on address 94CF from 27 to 20.

I have a full xdf driver for P8 ecu (tunerPRO). If anybody wants to play with this...

Re: Live Mapping Cosworth ECUs - A How To

    Hi Guys

Has anybody tried fiddling around with the injection firing angle degrees.
I am play around with a programable ecu. The car has been dynoed, made 350bhp on pump fuel which is enough for what i needed. What i noticed is that it is using much more fuel , apart from the over run fuel, i was looking into other things that could use alot of more fuel.
Infact i locked the fuel and timing on idle at around 950rpm, and took some readings for different injection firing angles. the best result was at -90 .
The problem is that this is at idle.
I don't know how i can work out the rest of the map.

Any help even with a std map would be very helpful.

    Thanks and regards
    Cpur

Re: Live Mapping Cosworth ECUs - A How To

I know this is probably highly illegal - but can someone PM or post up a standard P8 BIN file. I need to burn a standard chip so I can simply test the ECU Fuel Pump prime and ISCV pulse (my ECU doesn't want to do either). This is just to rule out a dodgy Pectel board/chip.

    Anyone able to help?

    Good morning
I hope my question is not included in the wrong post.
I'd like to know how to figure out each ecu map what does it correspond to?
I read somewhere that there is a sw of marelli called VISION that could serve this purpose, do you think it is so?
thanks for all a greeting to all

Re: Live Mapping Cosworth ECUs - A How To

    ok thanks 1000
are the xdfs you made very complete?
I'm also interested in activating strange things like
    als
    bang
    water injection
    if possible pop or crackle
(I state that I only need the bang) but I'd be curious to understand
how to activate the whole trip if you can activate it.
P.S. obviously I know that both the engine and the turbo need to be modified, that I will have to fit a larger valve, etc.
    a big hello
