    One for the Beardy Wierdies!

So if you like your prog rock (floyd, early genesis, Elp, jethro tull), then the new Opeth album Sourcress is for you. Listened to it a few times on splotify and really like it. Their most prog album so far, sits in the middle between the prog/death metal blackwater park phase and the acoustic/folk Heritage album. Lots of references to floyd but also bring in some world influences. A jolly good listen and can't wait to see them in November at Wembley.

Just to complete this thread -

Oh my, what a gig. (Opeth supported by Anathema at Wembley Arena, 19 Nov 16).

Anathema were a pretty good support, much bigger sound that their albums, which can't be bad.

So, Opeth, a band I have waited a long time to see live and they did not disappoint. One of four special gigs to celebrate their 25th anniversary where they features their new album plus some classics and selected songs from their damnation and deliverance albums, 2 1/2 hours of non stop sounds only cut short by the 11pm curfew.

Technically brilliant, tight, complex, so many styles and sounds and the In a truncated Wembley Arena making it more intimate. Absolutely brilliant.
