Wow, thank you very much! Those look great.

It appears the MX-5 engine is mounted at a slight angle but I can't tell just how much it's leaned over. I'm not sure how that would affect the gear stick placement if the transmission is used in a classic Ford. Either way, great pics detailing how it's all bolted together.

Shame the water rail is so big
Gearbox looks o.k but would need to make a mount up.
    Cheers for the pics

That looks like it would go in an Escort without too much trouble I know the Mazda version is VVT and a bit more powerful than the Ford version (160bhp in an MX5) so would make a bloody good starting point for a conversion

Re: MX-5 duratec pics (loads of pics)

Hi Bob thanks for the pics Im considering doing a conversion from the mx5 to my mk2 escort project here in australia. Those pics give me somewhat of an idea of the size of the box and possible other things that may need replacing etc for the convert.
    I have just one question
How much longer/shorter is the gearbox compared to a type 9 bolted up to a duratec?
Im guessing a custom extension housing or bellhousing may fix the problem if say the shifter has to be in between the seats
