Hello mate
Should be able to help. Do you want the diagram for the button or the actual module? Should also be able to provide the plug details as well.
Out of interest. What do you need it for?
And what model year is it?
Cheers
hi there m8, i`m looking for wiring diagram for the plug that powers the actual module
i don`t know the year it was a part i got from a breakers
i`m hoping to fit the electric handbrake in my anglia if it`s a simple`ish job
many thanks m8, here is a pic of the plug, cheers davy
Hello mate
I'll have a look tomorrow for you.
Cheers
many thanks m8
Hello Mate
Send me your email address and i'll send you a picture of the diagram
Cheers
cheers m8, pm sent
Cool, someone who had the same idea as me Any chance of PM'ing that diagram to me too?
It looked to me that the handbrake module is incorporated into the handbrake motor module? The only thing I was concerned about was that it also has canbus so may need other signals to make it work?
Before people ask why you would want to do this, I want a hydraulic handbrake without fussing about the cables for the MOT and having a very limited choice on handbrakes.
i just fancied trying it just for the sake of it lol, getting round canbus will be an issue, my m8 is going to open the motor up and try work out a way of making it a bit simpler hopefully
I looked at many different types, and the Vauxhall one seemed to be the simplest in terms of setup, Audi VW etc all have a separate module to control the motor. It may be that without the canbus that it will go into a limp mode that would mean that it would still work but without the release when driving off, or emergency brake mode... Need a friendly Vauxhall engineer
If you get the diagram please send it over for me too!
will do. hopefully it will work or next thing to look at is the E-BRAKE but it`s a costly set up
hi barney, did you get a chance to send that drawing, no worries if you haven`t had the time m8. just checking as my email`shave been a bit hit and miss of late
cheers davy
Hello mate
Apologies for the slow response. I've pdf'd the pages. Just haven't had chance to send them to you. Will do it thursday or Friday.
Cheers.
No worries m8 thanks again
many thanks m8
It's an Astra j 14 plate elite I have most the parts but need the loom to connect to my car so any help would be good thanks
hi m8, one i`m using is off an insignia, if you still need the wiring diagrame, give me your email and i`ll try send it to you
Hi I have a vauxhall insignia 10 plate and am have problems with the stupid electronic handbrake it's just not coming on and have got the handbrake fault light on the dash I've been told it maybe a earth problem but I'm unsure of what the cables are in the plug to the module is there any chance you could help with a diagram thanks
first thing to do is plug into the diagnostics and read its fault memory
Hi All,
i know its an oldish post but this seems to be the only place on the internet that can help me with the insignia wiring, is it possible to obtain a copy of the wiring diagram/pinout and if anyone knows if the canbus is required for normal operation? i was thinking about gutting it and making it manual operation but would much prefer to keep the load sensor limit etc operational.
thank you all in advance
Hi
I’m also looking for a wiring diagram for this unit. Thinking of using it on my Hot Rod
So I would appreciate if anyone could send me a copy
Whilst I know diddly squat about these devices, my concern is fitting one to a 'hot rod' or a '59 Anglia et al - this isn't OEM fitment so may fall foul of MOT requirements for a mechanically operated emergency / parking brake?
What happens if all electrical power is lost? Do they fail safe and remain locked on? I'd worry about their effectiveness as an emergency stopping mechanism - are they all or nothing type deal?
electric handbrakes are either a geared motor which mechanically pushes on the back of the hydraulic piston, or a motor and cable assembly working a vw/sierra type rear caliper, as such they do mechanically hold the brake on. when they fail, the brake might be off or on.
in the oe fitment if you apply the park brake whilst moving they pretty rapidly apply full effort. in our mot rollers they usually pull the brake on in stages, so there is some finesse, i struggle to see how you would achieve that retro fitting a system, surely it will be all or nothing?
