Different Capri Struts for a MK 1 escort
Could someone please explain the differences in the Capri struts that are considered an upgrade fro a MK1 escort? Pics will help.
I live in the US, and while some Capri's were imported. I don't know which would be the best upgrade for my 1300GT Mk1 escort

In general the Capri struts are same as escort rs.
They have replaceable inserts
Disc brakes with m16 calipers
Spring seat is about an inch lower so lowers car.

Thanks for the reply, some more question that hopefully will help me avoid buying the wrong parts
If I were fitting Capri coilovers to a MK1 escort what other considerations do I need to think about.
I see several components on Gartrac site such as top caps, and alloy suspension mounts (with different sizes; standard and less and inch and adjustable lower spring seat, and different top mounts)

Generally there are three types of Capri strut. 1.6/2.0-2.8 and 3.0. 1.6/2.0 struts can easily be converted to coil overs and able to fit adjustable inserts. 2.8 struts will be bilstein identifiable by the thick shocker rod and a nut at bottom of tube. 3.0 struts don't even touch as the the parts for them are one offs nothing can be used off anything else.

Any one pictures of the 2.8i strut? and do they have vented rotors (discs) and what do the brake caliper's look like.
can they be bought new?

Strut looks like normal Capri strut but
Rod is thicker as its a bilstein unit
There is a nut at bottom or threaded hole if damper missing
Probably rubber gaitor over rod
Vented discs as standard
Calipers are normal m16 with a spacer between the halves.
