    95 YZ250 Clutch!!

Hi all, not been on here for ages, been getting new job etc.

Have got myself a '95 YZ250 (pics when its back together!) and I cant get the clutch to disengage? I have changed the lever since the old one broke but nothing else. Now when its idling and you pull the clutch lever and drop it into gear.... it stalls. Clutch lever in or out, the engine just turns over when you push it. I have tried adjusting the clutch cable all the way in and out, and it makes no difference. The cable is not snapped, and the clutch arm is moving fully....
Currently i have the clutch out and on the bench and its mint, the basket is in good nick and all seems fine (it worked last time i used it! Just dont get what the problem is? meant to be riding tomorrow!!!?

Any help much appreciated (as usual)

    Thanks guys.

    Steve
    Cheers,

How long had it been sat doing nothing ? I take it's a wet clutch ? If so were the plates all stuck together when you took the cluch out ? If so give them a good clean with brake cleaner or petrol then soak them in some fresh oil of the correct grade for 1/2hr and try again. Is the little ball bearing still fitted between the clutch rod and the clutch pack, if this is missing the clutch wont disengage. Check all these things and then adjust the cable up so you have a small amount of free play at the lever. HTH

If there are any small ridges on the fingers of the clutch basket smoothe them off with a fine file
