Rolleyes replacement std crossmember fitting issues

    Hi All,

I am trying to fit a std cross-member i purchased from Rally Design (Part RD462) to be precise. I have 2 issues with the new item.

    1. Its about 1/2" narrower than the old original xmember, do i need to widen it up by "stretching" it on a press machine?
    2. The new item does not have the engine mounting brackets on it ,so to what do i fit the rubber mounts to?

    any feedback much appreciated

    cheers

    Dominic

It sounds like you have bought a X member for chassis mounted engine brackets. Where is it too narrow, where it bolts to the chassis?

Yes it's a chassis mount crossmember, is there not enough elongation in the mout holes ? If not, two reasons for return.

I would expect it to sit reasonably tight between the rails. If you un bolt it and 1 side drops slightly they usually stay there until you wriggle it a bit 1/2 inch seems a lot
