    2.0 pinto injection engine tuning

    Hi all
Looking for advice on tuning a bog std 2.0 injection pinto. The engine is in great condition having only covered 28000 from new and has been looked after.
I want to keep the std ford injection as i am going to use for a road rally car and the rules state std injection.
Anyone any advice on head mods, camshaft etc.
Going to uprate the oil pump, baffle the sump and use a diffrent air filter system.
Looking for a engine that is driveble and has plenty of torque rather than outright top end.
    Any advice appreciated.
    Cheers.

PS engine is in a 2.0s sierra.

BF134 cam and a rising rate fuelpressure regulator.

I should n't worry too much about sump baffling either for Road Rallies unless you have made it into a big wing sump.

Cosworth sump has a simple windage tray
The injection head gives a bit more bhp and I have a strong injection engine on bike carbs, Megajolt and FR32 that gave 130 bhp & 135 ft/lbs
    And a thin gasket

I sort of second what has been said already but I would check the mixture with a wide band lambda before adding a rising rate fuel pressure regulator - it might not be needed.

You can play with base ignition timing and if you're allowed, the AFM (air flow meter) can be opened up and the spring tension adjusted to modify the fuel curve a bit on mid range if needed.

The Ford EEC-IV is a good system and has a degree of self adaptation to it, there are also different solutions for remapping the ECU if you're allowed to do that. Most solutions are focused on the US market but can probably work the European ECU as well.
