    Best bore/stroke option

    Hi
Looking for some advice. Possibly looking to build a new engine for a stage car. Needs to run in the 2ltr class. If i go down this route id be looking at building a head capable of around 8500rpm. So solid lifters, aggressive cams, dry sumped etc.

I have these three options to hand. Or these three cranks more specifically. Will i see any difference in how high the engine will rev with the difference in stroke length? Will i be better going for longer stroke for torque?

    81mm stroke x 87mm bore 1926.1cc (forged crank)
    83.5mm stroke x 87mm bore 1985.5cc (cast crank)
    88mm stroke x 85mm bore 1997.4 (forged crank)

    Cheers
    Sion

You don't say what engine it is. If it's one with the tried and tested 86 x 86mm 2.0 ones I would stick with that and save your money for more important things to make the car quicker.
