Nice one Gents go on the Pushrods , Nick what width wheels you running front and rear looks like you got a nice bit of rubber under the rear end , Car looks menacing
8s on the rear 7s on the front.
Just weighed a disc and caliper of each type, the Aps are 3.2 kilos lighter than the princess set up, that's nearly 6.5 kilos the pair! The Ap discs are also 10mm bigger.
Thats a good saving Nick ,will be interesting to see how much bettter they feel on track
This years' upgrades:
Nice pic Nick ,was that 1 chosen as you can see Graham behind
Looks good nick, quite a caliber of cars behind you there ...
Hows the injection, has it made the car better to drive?

That was the restart after the safety car period,I was a fair bit further ahead before the sc
The injection hasn't made much difference apart from losing 9lb/ft of torque but it is easier to drive at low revs than with carbs.

Very nice..like the new arches....how did you work the inner arches at the rear...have you increased your rear wheel width with the new arches...
looks very stable in the pics..
Cheers mark
I cut the outer tubs and arches out in one piece, made cardboard templates and cut and seam welded infills back in between the inner tubs and rear 1/4s. Wheels are split rim revolution 4 spokes, 10 x13 rear and 9.5x13 front with 9.0-20-13 slicks.
Thanks..which group do you race in ...i am at the beginning of my car build mk1 and was looking at group E 1800 cc...but as you guessed im stuck on what i can do with the inner arches...i am using an atlas 52" and arches same as you.......
Cheers Mark
I race in QMN class E,up to 1800cc 8 valve. The rules change anually so it'd be best to check before finalising your build.
Any news on the mis -fire Nick?
just read this thread all the way through.. awesome mate...keep up the cracking work!!
nice looking car there mate
sideways is the best way to turn a corner
Thanks,it's a shame that I seem to of scared away my competition in class E so have to battle with class B,C,and D cars instead I was 2nd overall in the championship up until the last meeting where I had a dnf due to a broken throttle cable so I'm now 3rd with 4 more races to go.
Cracking car you have there, what sort of weight is it ?
just read through the thread brilliant write ups, got any up dates?
Come on Nick we need a season update Class winner and 3rd overall
Fantastic thread Nick, reading this has made my mind up to keep the faith with my X-Flow, keep your foot in mate
Can't remember even half of what happened but here are some pics from the start and the end of the championship, the white pug that I'm close to is this years'championship winning car and has 330+bhp, I managed to post my fastest ever lap time around the Brands indy circuit in this race.
And an overtake on a Harvey Gibbs powered Cossie..
Lea Woods' BTCC Vectra Jezz.
Does the pug really have 330 bhp Nick ,that is mightily impressive if it does, can you find out why they run such massive amounts of camber on the rear of the btcc cars ,i have allways wondered why
that would be my guess, reduce understeer, on a control tyres you dont have many options you cant use a harder compund or narrower tyre, they need some way to reduce rear grip and shed leaods of camber would do it, and probably comes in handy when chucking it hard at kerbs
Plus it works the tyres harder and gets some heat in them. I've watched fwd touring cars pirouette cruising at 25mph just because of cold rear tyres.
