    Question Rebuilding coilovers

    Hi,

Im part way through resto on my mk2.. and whilst waiting for panels to arrive im going to attempt rebuilding my front legs (coilovers).

The coilovers I have are not Bilsteins so cant just undo the nut and remove insert... im not attempted these types before so was wondering if anyone has a how to guide?

    thanks in advance

    Corey

Why do you need to rebuild them , are they leaking or pitted chrome etc.

If they are not any of above ?

If they plunge up & down at similar rates, i would leave them.
If it's for motorsport use, i would take them to whom ever built them. Have a dyno check on both units & make a decision.

    Thanks for replies....

my passenger side strut has no resistance and to me feels like the seals have failed. I will get some pictures and post them up to see if anyone can identify them.
