    MK2 Watts Towers.......help fitting!!

Right.....I have searched on here and there is no definite answer to my situation so here goes.

Below are some pictures of what I have......the question I have is - is it ok to add this much to get the bars level? I'm looking at 20mm one side and 40mm the other!! The axle is probably around 10mm to high and I have accounted for that in my measurements. Am I being stupid and missing something obvious?

I would imagine you would want them level with weight on the wheels, at the moment you only have the weight of the axle on the body, if you mounted the towers at the correct postion without spacing, the weight of the body would compress the shocks further put the bars in a more neutral position.

Erik - I take your point but I can't drop it on its wheels as it's on a spit at the moment and the axle has no half shafts in! Could someone give me the measurements from a standard chassis rail to the axle for a normal ride height for forest/rough airfield setting so I can measure up and see. Also could someone give me the measurement from the chassis rail to the top bolt on each watts tower?
    Thanks on advance

Why not just weld it up and adjust the height when you set up your geometry, redriling the tower.

If you look at the first picture you will see that on its lowest possible setting it's not possible to redrill the towers so I need to get them somewhere close first!!

You just extend the tower to get the height you want. It's not totally critical for the bars to be straight anyway, they'll always vary in angles with ride height adjustment

I reckon once the weight is on the car you'll need to adjust the height towards the floor anyway

OK so I was wrong with having to add so much!! Phew! Would still like the measurements above just to double check before welding!!

I'm currently in the process of fitting towers too, plenty of trail and error before welding. I used some ratchet straps to pull the axle down to resemble the ride height.
