    "Man" Hours

I've read all of the Overhauling section, and know a few people in various stages of carrying out a similar task themselves, and know at some time I will be doing so too, (albeit a rolling project for me). A bare metal full rebuild seems to take Joe Public some where between 2 and 10 years.

Just wondered if anyone had done a realistic calculation of man/woman hours that went into this work? I understand it was carried out over a weekend, and that plenty of planning must have gone into parts and paint sourcing in the run up to the big weekend.

So ignoring the couple of people who were probably on the phone for what must've seemed like days at a time in the planning stage, "How long did it take in person hours?"

This information might spur people on who have done all the hard work, and get them motivted to push that little bit harder to get the project closer to finished. It'll also highlight just how hard the people involved worked!!

An amazing feat in my opinion.

I believe Gary (retromotorsport) actually worked out the hours, and even at a cheap labour rate the bill was rather scary

personally I lived there for a couple of day and it was a top weekend

on my own project I have been working on that for 8 years and it isnt in paint yet

All I got for christmas was a sweater, I really wanted a moaner or a screamer......

I think the labour charge for the first day was something around £3grand.

And I'm not sure that knowing all the hours that were put in would spur anyone on. Put them off more like!

And, take into account the sum of all the knowledge that was there too, between us there wasn't much we didn't know about Escorts.

Still gives me a very warm feeling whenever I think about it.

    I don't know ... would it be scary ????

84 hours and an average of 10 people working all the time.

840 hours ... or there and there abouts

If you ever fancy doing something like this again...... 07866718... only joking

Glad I've got a good shell! All my work is modifying at the moment, so the time will be minimal, but the cash, well, I'm guessing most of you know all about that?!

My work starts next week when I move, bought a new house, just so my baby has a roof over her head in her very own garage.

Just don't tell the mrs why we are moving
