Re: Show us ya center console!

This is one I did for a mates Grp 4 Mk2, it had a lot of use by the time this photo was taken so looks a bit tatty!

Its a Ralloy console (for big tunnel). The switches are the type with LED's in the end and work the fuel pumps, F heated screen, fuel pumps etc via relays. I used the original switches for the rear heated screen & hazards.

The fuzes are all 'pop out' type (available from electronic shops mail order), the relay box came from Vehicle wiring products. The Voltmeter is racetech, I always fit one after having problems with alternator faults causing over charging at high RPM's which leads to intermittent misfires with engine management boxes etc.

A standard FIA cut out with all the main circuit feeds taken from it. The whole thing is connected by 2 large multi connectors (from Vehicle wiring products) so the console can be unplugged and removed for repairs to car or wiring etc. The cigar lighter on the side is actually for the navigators light (potti) to plug in, I've no idea why he still keeps a cigarette lighter plugged in!

And just taken this one out of Mk1 (its on Ebay now). It was my first attempt & made out of sheet ally covered in black vinyl.

This is how mine used to look. Not the best pic I know. It had the fuses mounted on the other side panel and they were both hinged to allow access to the electrics

I no longer have a centre console... come to think of it I no longer have a dash

Here is my latest effort for a rally car.. mmhhhh carbon

Think the carbon is OK for a mk2 but I reckon painted alloy is better in a Mk1

I know this is an old thread but...

How does everyone feed their fuse boxes? Some pics of the back would be nice?

Does anyone make a smaller center consul that will fit between the lower ash tray panel and the tunnel ?

I made that one Alan. It's alloy sheet bent & covered in Viny.
If you make a cardboard one & send it to Sean at "rallyweld' he will make a proper one any size you want in alloy.

I had a custom size one done & it was surprisingly cheap & exactly the size I wanted
