I'm about to start building my dream Escort shortly, and in typical me fashion I'm doing as much homework as possible first. I've spent ages reading this forum, but thought it best I make a post.

So this is going to be a two door mk2, and will be fitted with a Honda S2000 engine and gearbox + Motec ECU. It'll also have the wide arches like the early 80's works cars.

My rallying (Subaru) days are over, so this is just going to be a road car, however I want to build something that handles like a dream. Whilst I know a WRX drive train intimately, I'm still learning about Escorts.

I figure four link seems to be the way to go, but then I lose the rear seat? Does turreting mean a loss of the rear seat? (I'll get the car reupholstered anyway, and I don't mind not being able to use the rear seat if it means a four link, I just want it to look like there is a rear seat if that makes sense.)

Whilst I was always a Proflex fan when rallying, I quite like the look of the Gaz adjustable shocks.

So what would people recommend I do? I don't want the ride to be too harsh. I'm not aiming for a $10k atlas rear axle build, but don't mind spending the dollars in the right places.
