    Just a quick update removing the jet covers worked a treat and it now revs fine and progresses to main jets.
    These forums are great post a problem and someone in the know replies and solved your issue. Thumbs up to all that have helped.

    Glad you've got it figured out. Thanks for the update, not many people bother but it helps others once they have googled their problem.

    @chris52 : if you want to get rid of those exotic carbs.....some people may pay good money for it....

    i now remember that before i sold my car (where such carbs had been fitted), i changed the carbs because they had been worn-out...even in worn state i got more money than for a "usual" pair of non-worn weber´s

    Cheers for the info, now I know the engine is running ok the job is on hold as I have another car I want to get all sorted for the warmer weather when it comes lol.
