Hi re brakes from Steve goss in Adelaide S.Aust

Hi all - my first post.....
running some huge brakes in my clubman Puma - 15" wheels.
I have some Rally Design Cortina hubs and uprights.
I run escort rack and sooo many other escort bits.
I run 15" rims and want to go down to 13" - less weight.
Does someone have a supplier that can do 13" VENTED discs and 4 pot calipers for this set up.

You blokes must have some decent 4 pot vented setups for the Mk1 ?????

And tried to show the car and brakes ....... but

Couple of questions, do the cortina hubs still have the fixings for the inboard brake discs. The older escort/Capri/cortina brake discs mounted behind the wheel face rather than on top of which is the more modern way.

So, with 13" wheels the largest disc is probably a 270mm as a squeeze.

two choices, keep the hubs the way they are and go for wilwood or hispec kits (260mm vented kits available) or machine the wheel face down and the disc lugs off and go for something like a escort rs2000 260mm vented and then add Sierra xr4x4 brakes, you may be able rig something with Subaru, mgf or fiat coupe 4 pot calipers (similar to caprisport setup) but you will be on your own regarding designing and making brackets.

final alternative is the classic princess 4 pot conversion.

277mm discs are the biggest you can fit under 13's, AP's are the best brakes to go for, you can buy kits from £900 + depending on what discs and pads you go for, for motorsport i wouldn't touch Wilwoods, ive tried various ones and the braking is nowhere near as good as AP's, Hispec slightly better but AP or Alcon best.
