    Re: Lady Edith

The car is Steve Bannisters new one. Steve is one of the fastest Escort drivers and is great fun to watch!

The following info is taken off the Britishrally forum and the spec I believe is as follows:-

2.3 Jondel Duratec 299.99r BHP through a 5speed Tractive sequential to an Atlas axle on Proflex coilovers F&R. Still on 13" wheels but thats up for discussion after yesterday, a very 21st century thing a "Lata Dogger" showed he'd been using 8968rpm at one point.
Must mention Kev Theaker of Ralloy who has had so much input in to getting Edith up and running, it soon focused his concentration when running her around bedding in he found you could spin the wheels in 5th !
She was just a prepared(not painted) shell when Steve sold Elsie 3months ago and I know he's burnt a lot of midnight oil since then. Take a good look around her on the Reivers if you get the chance.
There were only 2 small issues yesterday, once sorted it was tyres and fuel, adjust ride heights/damper settings after she settled in. Not bad straight out of the box and Steves first ever drive, the only time he sat in previously was for the seat fitting.
Steve was concerned because the Tractor has a sequential box where the gear lever is pushed forward to change up so he had to remember he wasn't driving that..!!!!!!!!!

The first Duratec I have seen with a cam belt.
I did here that Mountune were developing a cam belt kit, because the timing chains stretch and the tensioners fail if rev'd over 8000rpm for long periods of time.
Looks like Jondel beat them to it!

Thats Steves NEW car and its only been out testing but look out when he starts competing with it !!

The car you've probably seen was powered by a Jondel XE, the Duratec will be 'interesting' no doubt as he can sure pedal a Mk2 !!

blimey is there anything in these engines that doesn't need throwing in the skip then ? Even a rubber belt is stronger than a duratec chocolate timing chain !!!!!!!! , whatever next

Wasn't able to get to the JCMR, results show steve retired at SF17 Blackadder 2 "Mechanical"

See below, he did not appear to be trying as hard as he usually does.
What about the noise from Andy Horne's DAM 4100???
