mk1 turret/shock question

As above, I am in the process of fitting rounded turrets and 15 in tubs, question is
1. does the turret have to butt right against the side of the chassis rail or is there a gap between them?
2. I also need to know the distance from the top of the firewall shelf to the top of the turret?
3. what length coilovers will I need to get?

car will be fitted with an Atlas axle with the shocls mounting onto top of tube, 4 link and a Watts linkage, I intend to run 14 inch rims if I can get decent 4 pots brakes inside them!
