Few more pieces arriving.....
Picked up an alloy dash backing for the Stack Dash. I may paint it though with some crinkly paint as it's a bit shiny...
Been a slow month or so but still getting the other things sorted
Rear hilux axle is now sorted. I had a mate make up some brackets for the Skyline calipers and we used supra rear rotors.
All sorted and looks great
Cheers
Coming along nicely .... Wish I had a m8 with a machine shop.. Can help your out of all sorts of problems
looking good...still got to tackle my axle....cheers mark
Hi matt the axle of a mits /shogun...needs massive lightning..but perfect width for me come standard limited slip//unbreakable shafts /disk braked...got to convert it to 5 stud but it will fit my wheels..
Its just a pinto...with a twist...i built the head with down draught ports. 8 injectors....variable velocity stacks...46mm throttle bodies(bike) ..46mm and 37mm valves...
the bottom end is waiting for pistons to be made...i had the rods made long stroke 5.73" but i also stroked the crank...this means the pistons will be only 21mm above pin (prob only room for 2 rings)...there is a build thread on here if you have a week to spare reading it..ill find the link and post it up...cheers mark

i think that will work..if not its called Down draft b.v pinto with variable velocity stacks shed build adventure
cheers mark
Hey Man, how could i forget your epic engine build. Apologies. My Pinto is due to be dyno'd in a few weeks now and should see high 180's or hopefully low 190's on 48 DHLA Dellortos.
that will be plenty of power..and hopefully reliable...your running quite a high diff(from memery) so you will have awesome acceleration through the gears...
what cam did you chose ?
cheers mark
Yeah, the guy building oy does race pintos so hes known for reliability.
The cam is a custom grind but similsr tona Wade 520x .490" valve lift and 311deg inlet and 310 deg exhaust and is around 254@50.
Yeah, the diff is a 5.3 which is ridiculous dk I'll get it rebuilt to 4.4 or thereabouts
Cheers

Now painted
Engine should be dyno'd in a few weeks hopefully...
Starting back on the car next week. Can't wait
nice work as always...engine has to be green..i couldnt decide on a color for my block..i went through zakspeed green, orange, silver..ended up with deep pearl blue..but still want to look zakspeed ..maybe gold...looking forward to the car updates..cheers mark
Hmmm, i didn't think about gold.
Cheers
Matt
Sorry for the lack of updates. Progress has been made though
Engine is finished and will be on an engine dyno next weekend. Hoping to see high 180's and maybe low 190 hp but we'll see. It'll be mated to a W58 Supra gearbox.
Few pics
Have started the dry build now. Front and rear suspension is in and finally test fitted the new Braid wheels. They look amazing and I was very relieved they didn't foul anything and the large Brembos with 305mm rotors didn't hit anything too. We ended up throwing some old 225 A050's on and they look great on the 9" fronts. Toyo do a 235 in a 15" so I think I've finally found some RSpec tyres to run that aren't crazy $$.
Anyway here's the pics

We obviously haven't done the alignment and the wheel sits far too much forward but thereis plenty of room around it once we trim the front valance
Onto the rear. I had bought a hilux diff that was in a mk2 escort that had been 6 linked soI weas expecting to have to make the brakets to sit it on the escort leaf springs but had a massive win as we found this had been done already.
Here it is installed with the new brake brackets and rotors from Supra MA70 that have been machined and redrilled.
Well that was a pretty good day so hopefully we keep the momentum rolling
Thanks for looking
Matt
Very cool, glad I just stumbled across this. Watching with interest from across the ditch
Thanks Mate
Starting to come together now ... Keep up the great work matey
I had a mate make it from a standard one.
Cheers
Matt
Big leap forward...looking like a zakspead now....im trying to find the 235s as well for my fronts....looks a nice tyre...are you using gaz shocks on the rear i cant remember...almost there cheers mark
Toyo do the R888 and R888r in a 235/50 R15. The tyres in the pic are knackered Yokohama A050's just for setting up
I've got Bilsteins on the rear and the Gaz Golds upfront
Once it's dry built we'll pull it apart and ten blast it then the paint can start so still a long way to go
How's yours coming along Mark?
Slowly ..been grinding down welds ..make it look pretty..(which i hate doing)...my daily driver has been a pain...had to get an obd2 reader to find the fault..but the obd2 driver didnt work, so had to download another...as always seems 1 step forward 2 steps back...
But ill get there ...nice to see someone else progress..gives us all hope...
cheers mark
Nice one, I agree seeing progress on other builds definitely increases motivation
Get an update on your one going....
Few pics of the rear brakes.
