Enjoying the break but time to get back into it
The alloy tank was to suit an EFI set up so we needed to make up a plate to blank off the efi fulty pump hole
This is now the fuel outlet that will go to the fuel pump
Next step is to start on the fuel and brake lines
Stay tuned
Little bit more happening
Pedal box now installed and power steering too
Next step in the rear firewall and then we can start the plumbing
Cheers matt...final stages now....looking good as always...cheers mark
Stating the plumbing now and got a few other pieces have turned up too
Here are all the fittings for the fuel & Oil hose and the host itself
New alternator as I don't want to use the standard Lucas one
Fittings for the Carb Throttle assembly
And new Helmet and Hans device. Safety first
Car at a mates place to do the plumbing
Wheels off
Made a rear firewall. From this...
To this
And this
Its amazing how many little jobs are left to do...but on the final stretch...when does your racing season start....cheers mark
No real season as I'll start off with a few sprint days and go from there
Starter motor turned up today too
Very light and should kick it over nicely
Tell me how you get on with your starter.
I had to modify my CAE one as the throw out was incorrect.
That box of fittings looks expensive... They add up pretty quick.

More open wallet surgery -
We redid the oil cooler hoses in this stuff
All done and finished
Started work on the boot
We got 2 filters for pre and post fuel pump. 1 is 40 microns and the other 100
Working out the layout
And sorted. Might change the hose from the tank to the first filter though to run down the front of the tank if I have host left over
Going to run the lines inside the car so here is the bulkhead fitting
Carbie hoses done now too
And lastly clutch cable fitted and all feels great

Still a bit to go on the fuel hoses then onto the brakes
Stay tuned
Made up the rear brake lines to go all the way into the M/C's then the fronts, Ran out of hose for the front left so I need to get more to finish it off. Threars are done and all bled up too

Next was finishing off the fuel hose. You can see the hose coming from the rear bulkhead going to front bulkhead
Here's a few pics of the bulkhead fitting in the engine bay into the carbs
Next was to make a blank for the fuel pump
next was fitting a new alternator
We needed to make a few spacers to fit it to the standard mount
Now all bolted in and just need to make a tension bracket

Once the rest of the brake lines are done then we will start the final paint so it's not long now!!
Nice one matt....mines not moved forward at the moment...glad yours is almost done...looking the part...
Cheers mark
,
All plumbed up and bled with no Leaks
Looking the part....amazing how the engine bay soon fills up....
Just had the rules for my oval racing fun...and they now want 6" between battery and petrol tank....got me thinking it might be rules across all formulas...worth checking i think...
Cheers mark
Hmm, yes. good point
Time to do some reading....
Cheers
Matt

Next up is to paint the front dash and also blend in the front of the cage to avoid the glare and also make it disappear when sitting in the drivers seat. You can;t believe the difference this makes

Tomorrow is the wheel alignment then the wiring starts
Not long now.....
Wheel alignment all done and wheels pointing the right way
Flocked dash looks awesome too!!
After one of your previous posts, I got inspired and saved myself several hundred $'s by opting to do the same on my mk2 gt Cortina dash instead of having it recovered. Thanks! Quick question, is the hydraulic handbrake just plumbed inline with the rear brakes? Is there anything else that needs doing/modifying?
It'll be painted before you know it!
Shaun
Had the car upon the hoist so took a few pics

Like your approach to the brake plumbing, I used banjo fittings and they are a pain.
Is that a mk2 Cortina under the hoist???
