Dyno Day!!!!
All done now and just a few thnihgs to sort out for Tuesday's track day
Waiting for the pics and vids...
First track day at Sandown went off without a hitch. Car was perfect and didn't have any dramas apart from the weather and the wiper motor crapping itself. Otherwise the car is fucking amazing and is just a beast
A few little things to sort out like better chair position and mirrors
Here's the pics and vids - Id love some feedback
Cheers
Matt
Lots of brake dust...
Vids
Sorry for the angle
Safely back on the trailer
Thanks for looking
Looks great, sounds great.
Have you stopped grinning yet?
Given how wet it was here Tuesday, that was one hell of a day for a shake down.
Good to see it back on the trailer in one piece.
Do you know why the wiper motor died? I'm sure you've already got it sorted but if not I have one you can have.
Shaun.
Another vid from Tuesday...Damn it was wet!
hi matt how much hp at the rear wheels and how much did it loose in drive train cheers Mario.
Hi Matt car sounds great and looks great top job cheers mario.
Hi Matt
First off, good job on the build, really good looking car and sounds great
I was wondering where you bought your kit and did you have choices?
Sorry if it's in the thread, I haven't read it all and I'm a little late to the party
Cheers

Last Sunday was Small Ford Sunday for my Car Club. The largest small ford show in the southern hemisphere with 286 small fords braving the 40 degree heat to put on the show
I was lucky enough to win best competition vehicle which was a surprise as I wasn't going to enter
Keep an eye out for an article in Classic Ford as there will be lots of pics on the show in there
Anyways here are a few pics

Nice one matt...fully deserved i recon...
Still needs that rear spoiler....
Looks and sounds amazing...
Cheers Mark
Car looked really good sitting there in the sun. Those hours of taping and masking for the paint job really paid off.
The overall standard/finish of the competition cars this year was way higher than the usual tattered rally cars.
Your win was well deserved, you should be very proud.
Shaun.
Hi Matt...i Havnt looked at it...well all ive done is look at it ..ha ha...i decided to dedicate last year to just racing..it was my last chance before they sold the track for a shopping mall...so ive got that out my system...will be back on it again in the next month...
Yours gives me the inspiration i need to see it completed...
Watch this space...
Cant see your name on your car.....put it on there....
Cheers mark
Thanks Mate
Shame we couldn't catch upon the day!
Yes, the quality of the cars was great this year in the competition section with a number of news cars which is great to see rather than the same ones each year.
I was very happy to win to say the least
Cheers
Matt
Racing 1/4 mile oval...in the old cosworth..gave me a chance to play with roll centre settings (moving it left to right to see if i can go round corners faster ect) and try different geometry settings.. to see if i really know what im doing...ha ha. Had a blast...the track has now closed...and the other tracks are only racing on saturday...and of course i have to work...
Will be back on the escort...going to change a few things ive already done...as we say 1 step forward 2 steps back...but as you are aware for me its the building i enjoy the most.... Your car looks stunning... Im looking at a capri....to make a Zakspeed retro mod..but i dont no when on earth i would have time to build it...ha ha ..

Hey Guys,
I've had lots of questions about the car both on here and on Facebook so I'm thinking about doing a series of youtube vids where I go through the car and do a few info sessions.
Is anyone keen to see such a thing?
Let me know
Cheers
Matt
Last month I did a track day at Philip Island (home of the GP Bike Grand Prix) here in Melb and this is truly the best track Ihave ever driven.
Here is the car all loaded up ready to go to work with me as we left after
Bring your race car to work day!!
In the pit garage waiting to go out with my mates Evo
Waiting to get on track
My pads really make a mess of the shiny wheels..
The track day photographer really knows his stuff. I was walking past to have a piss when I saw this just sitting there at the end of the day. How could i not buy it!!!
Here is some in car footage of the day too
All in all an amazing day with perfect weather and the car performing awesome although still needing a better tune a think as the chokes are a little too big making it a bit sluggish in the low / mid rev range but I'm just in love with this car.

Some bad news. I was changing the oil after the recent track day when the car slipped off the jack and caught the side of the block and has caused significant damage.
So I now need to rip out the engine and I'm pretty sure a new block will be required. I'm not sure a repair with a JB Weld type of product will suffice and I'd rather do it properly so I ensure I have no future issues. It's winter here in Oz now so the motivation is very low so the car is just sitting under a cover until my motivation levels increase and I can be bothered.
Few pics..
Stay tuned and I'll keep you all updated is the repair progresses
That's unlucky after all your hard work
But I'm sure that would be ok to repair - it's not an important part of the block, just the flange for the sump gasket

Ouch! Slipping off the jack is bad news. It looks like it would repair OK. Its not a structural part of the block - just needs to make a good seal with the sump.
My worry is that given cast iron shatters then this may provide a weak point that may cause a failure point in the future
So I've created a Facebook page at - https://www.facebook.com/Skinny-Boy-...2498045562678/
And here is the first vid- stay tuned for more soon
