common problem yes but when you say it leaks more when you raise rpm, is vehicle stationary? if so, it may be rear main oil seal. is the oil clean or dirty?

I had oil leaking out from between engine and box on my daughters 1992 106D and took the gearbox out expecting to replace the rear main oil seal. It turned out to be the main oilway end blanking plug (similar to a sump plug) had worked loose. Tightened it up and all's okay.

Once you've taken them out of the hub flange, the shafts literally fall out of the gearbox end - they dont even have clips holding them in.
