    Dcoe 45... Should there be petrol behind the inspection plate under choke mechanism ?

    Im going to rebuild my carbs. There was always a slight leak from the carbs and i think its coming from under the rectangular inspection cover which covers the centre of the spindle kind of thing. See attached pic... Should petrol be getting into there? If yes hopefully a new gasket will sort it. If petrol isnt supposed to be getting in there, what could it be???

    there should not be petrol in there, dont see how it could get there either, unless its just a result of the carbs being tipped up or perhaps it flooded big time
