A mate of mine tonight asked me a question that I did not honestly know the answer too.
He's got a mk2 escort fitted with a YB running approx 300 bhp
The car is fitted with just one rear silencer.
( perforated tube with wadding )
He he wants to remove all the internals in the silencer so it is basically just a box with an in and out at either end.
My my first thought was it would cause a lot of back pressure and restrict flow.
The air once it hits the silencer will be "bouncing around" before being exited.
I know straight through rough pipes would work better
what do you guys think
