If it's an old skool Honda it will have the old C50 engine int it. In those days it came in two flavours, auto and manual. The auto was in the C50 and others, and the manual was in in the SS50 and the "Monkey Bike" (apart from others). It was a very tunable engine, second only to the FS1E.

PS None of which came with "pedals" like the Puch Maxi

Sorry but the SS50 did have pedals - I had one, a 1977 green 5-speed. It wasn't the flashiest ped but it p*ssed all over my mates RD50's, FS1E's and AP50's

    Re: Old Honda moped

When I was at junior school, the caretaker (Mrs Sudbury) had something similar to that. It was a Honda Camino, and she used to wear one of those cream, leather helmets, with the flaps on it, that did up under the chin.

Me and my mate 'commondeered' it from outside the staff room one dinner time, and rode it around the playing fields, until we got dragged off it by the headmaster. He couldn't catch us on the straight, but outfoxed us by getting some of the dinner ladies to herd us into a corner.

My mate Ian was riding it, and I was sat on the rack on the back, with the flappy leather helmet on.

    Ah ! happy memories
