    Cosworth YB idle too high

    Hello,

Idle is too high of my Escort Cosworth. Sometimes idle goes up and down like "a very modified engine".
When I shift gear, engine speed keeps "hanging" a little.

When I shut of the idle actuator everything is normal.
I have shut off al the vacuumpoints allready...
    Anyone can help?

    Thanks

Try cleaning the idle speed control vavle , with some carb cleaner

Un plug it see if it's idles high ? If not it could be the vavle , I know you need to set the base idle with a new iscv , is it a genuine one ?

If running a P8 (you say Escort cosworth) have you reset the ECU after changing the ISCV? Cant remember exactly but there is a sequence you go through whilst shorting out the diag plug...

get your engine hot, unplug ISCV...set base idle with screw...connect ISCV...go for a ride 10-20km...get back to garage...

what is idle? too big? then you have some issue on engine management.
