Good Morning from Kuwait Oil Fields
Ah ha, the title got you. As I guess it would.
I have posted before but not take the time to introduce myself. I am 50 and originally from Scotland. At 19 my first ford was a mk2 1600 sport. I then gravitated to a mk2 capri 3.0s. Then I had a couple of 2.8s. Needless to say I love my RWD fords. I then at 24 bought a sierra XR4X4. Oh what fun until I planted it in a flower garden near the police station in Falkirk J
So loads in between but now I live in Croatia and work in Kuwait with the oil and gas industry. I own a 73 V8 mgb, a 73 Triumph TR6, a 68 Morris minor convertible (bought for the missus on our anniversary) and my favorite, my 72 Le Mans Green mk1.
This came as a barn find that was advertised in Croatia as an RS2000. The only resemblance was it was a 2 door with a pinto. But for a thousand pound, and a rock solid body (no interior) how could I say no.
Oh yeah, did I mention that it had 15 Granada wheels, jacked up reas suspension and twin side pipe exhausts!! Dont laugh.
So the project started to turn it into my child hood dream of an RS2000. Nearly there. Should be all but done this summer. And what took the longest time, yep, the front bloody seats.
So far I have added the following:-
Vented grooved discs with solid allow billet hubs
Coil over front shocks
Adjustable lower arms
Ant dive kit (a must when upgrading the front brakes)
Quick rack
15 team dynamic light weight alloys
Oversized alloy rad
ZZR 600 carbs
Ashley exhaust
Large rear drums
Dark brown beta cloth recarro interior (only the seats are brown)
New front door cards
Kick panels
6 dial dash (LHD)
RS steering wheel
RS centre consul
New carpet
New headling
New parcel shelf
5 speed T9 gearbox conversion using RS bellhousing and quaife quick shift
Still to do list:-
Remote servo (located where battery was)
Hydraulic pedal box
English axle and LSD
Alloy fuel tank
