    Coil Dwell Time

OK, to set the scene, for what seems like years, I have had issues getting my car mapped decently with a robust map that doesn't foul plugs or run rough in the cold.

Today, I have had it highlighted that the coil dwell time in my ECU settings have been set to 1.46mS which is considered ideal for coil on plugs, but not for a coil pack which I have.

What would the major effects be of a shorter dwell time?

FYI -I foul spark plugs quickly

Shorter charge time = weaker sparks = fouled plugs. Too large a dwell is also bad due to over heating the coil. Most single / dual / quad output coils will be happy with 3.0mS. Try it and see if it gets better?

Does anyone one have the dwell time for the coil on plug. I read somewhere it was 1.6ms factory.
I wasnt getting a good spark till 2.0ms.
