Mk1 Escort 140MPH Rev Counter Help

Hello Everyone,

I have come to fit my 140MPH Clocks for the first time and have noticed on the back of the rev counter there are 3 wires. One green, one white and one red. These have been soldered directly on the rev counter circuit board by a previous owner and cant work out how this works!

I have seen in other threads the coil signal wire should pass through a white loop, however there is no such thing on the back of my clocks. Can I Just connect the signal wire from the coil to the green wire and a live from the ignition to the red?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Unless you did the mod to the revcounter how on earth do you know it will work???
