Hi All, im after some advice on my diff rebuild. I've just installed an LSD in my English axle and set it up as per the manual and info from other threads on here. I've changed all the bearings in it and have the preload and backlash as well as the cap spread set. However the final check using a marking dye has shown that there is a bit of drive side root toe contact and coast side root heel contact on my original cwp, not excessive, there appears to be a 2/3 contact patch on each tooth, looking on the net suggests i need a thinner pinion shim. I would like advice from anyone who has experience in building diffs up, do you agree? If so how much should i take off the shim. The diff is back on the car to run in the LSD but I could take off when i do the diff oil change in 50 miles.

Regards Nige
