2wd wiring on 4wd motor and ecu

I'm currently wiring up my mk1. The motor wiring and ecu is early 4x4 level 8. The wiring is not in good shape so I've decided to use my spare 2wd wiring. My only gripe is with the throttle position sensor wiring. Do I still need to swop the outer two wires on the 2wd tps plug. I will be running the 4x4 black tps and level 8 ecu. Silly question but it's got me scratching my head.

Also just check that the TPS is actually a PF09 rather than PF01 - the colour doesn't necessarily mean it's from a 2WD or 4WD; they can both come in either red or black.

According to bigturbo.co.uk there, on the ECU side both L6 and L8 have the same signals for the TPS on the same numbers (11, 17, 30), just the L6 has pin 11 and 30 reversed compared to the L8 at the TPS plug end, as you state. Sounds like all you need to do is swap the outer connections over.

Thanks for clearing that up and the quick response guys. Helpful site that. I will be sure to check all pin positions now.
