what gearbox is that? it came from a cortina mk3 2.0

I have a std escort mk2 shell with std crossmember, i want to fit a 2.0 engine with a type e.
I will buy the rs alloy mounts

What i need to do with the shell? I need to cut the firewall?

its been answered a million times if you search! no you do not need to cut the firewall, if you use an rs2000 alloy bellhousing it fits, if you use a cast iron bellhousing form a cortina or sierra you will need ti hammer the gearbox tunnel out a bit for clearance
