Is it possible to bore the 1.8 to 2.0? Has it been done? Done searches but no definitive answers
also can the block be decked by 9mm?
Cheers

i have a recollection of it having been done successfully but thats it im afraid
Would be a fair bit of machining work for something you could buy off the shelf, unless you were wanting everyone to think it was still an 1800cc with casting numbers ect?
9mm is a lot to take off anything let alone the deck of a Pinto block, or do you mean .9mm?
sorry i didnt read it all, yes i think a 2.0 bore is possible if not advisable, but i dont think you could deck a pinto block by 9mm there would be nothing left of the top face, and there would be so little to support the headbolts you would be sure to crack the block when you torqued the head up
I was thinking of building a short stroke pinto with some bits I have, all but the crank. Or try a 1540cc pinto 1800 block with 1600 short stroke crank.
Not out to make anything special just a parts bin project
I would use the original short stroke 1600 block. If you need a short stroke 1600 crank. Got one fresh regrind. Was regrind by accident, not seen it was a 1600 cc. Can sell if very cheap.
If I had a short 1.6 block i would have the crank. I'm not looking to get any more parts unless I know what will go together.
