Ecoboost into a Mk1 or mk2 escort, has it been done yet ?

I have a 2.3 ecoboost engine going into my Elise and my brother has a 1600 sport sat on the drive doing nothing

As the Ecoboost has the same PCD for the gearbox for the duratec, but different engine mounts, I don't see why it wouldn't fit

But has anyone done this yet

2.0 is 280bhp out the box

Ive seen a 385bhp 1.6 ecoboost (just running GDI) which is impressive but they are as heavy as a 2.0 block

They are being phased out as well for a triple 1.5 but plenty around

The new 1.5 three pot is supposed to be something silly like 190bhp or something!

I'm just in process installing 1.6 ecoboost in mk2 looked at 2.o and 2.3 both got balance weights in sump they've got really bad vibration when removed both too tall with them in to fit mk2

the removal of the balancer shafts doesn't make the ecoboost vibrate, well at least it didn't with mine or all the other ST's in the USA that have been removed. Mountune even do a balancer shaft delete kit

Height I didn't think of, I was more worried about the HPFP hitting the bulkhead.

What ECU did you use on the 1.6 ?

Has anyone actually measured the fit issue? Have they looked at the North-South orientation kit from Ford (which includes a new sump)? If someone has a cad file of the engine bay I have access to the engine cad fit files. I am interested in a similar swap. Height and HPFP are always the issues fitting these engines into other bays (for instance Miata or Caterham).

Freddy what would you need to make the adaptor plates, as the 2.0 and 2.3 are basically duratec bolt patterns ?

    What about engine mounts ?

Its the same, exact PCD as a Duratec.

Have you done an adaptor for this before ?

Why 1.6 and not the 2.0?
