I have been asking this of freddy if he plans to make an adapter but everyone seems to use a MX5 box which bolts directly. There is also a guy on ebay from time to time who re welds the bellhousing for a duratec.
I’m looking at going the 2.0 Duratec and RX8 gearbox route also, did you manage to do it, some details would be appreciated if you did.
I have both an RX8 box and an MX5 box. The first issue i can see is the on the duratec the starter sits right in place of the slave cylinder. i have not checked the bellhousing patterns etc yet. It seems just easier to get the MX5 box which fits straight on.
The question would have to be why?
Duratec plus mx5 - iirc they bolt together ok but the box is at an angle to the engine. Also rx8 has Ford spline pattern so easier to make clutches fit rx8.
