It looks like wide track on the front. Nice car, I would be interested to know what spec it is.

I realise this is a little late the whole car is custom built, taking the Ford WRC style and ideas but binned the homologation restrictions like suspension pickup points etc and moved them. As parts for WRCs has always been expensive and now they are classics even more so I built it with almost production parts that can still be bought at reasonable money rather than with obsolete parts from 25 years ago that are no longer made.

Has bespoke front and rear subframes, bespoke gearbox, front diff, shafts, turbocharger, intake system bla bla bla.
Still conforms to the regs power has been developed since the event here at NWS in 2017 and with the 34mm restrictor in pulls over 550nm on pump fuel.

    Re: Out rallying again

Thanks for sharing that information about the specification of your Escort, better late than never is what they say.

We have Clubmans Group A Escort that we competed with on Forest Rallies but that hasn't seen the light of day for the best part of 15 years. I know how expensive 909 parts were back then so I would imagine they have all but dried up now. I did know of someone that a good selection of second hand parts, whether he still has any I don't know.

I'll look forward to seeing you on this years NW Stages Mark.

    Re: Out rallying again

Yes bits for grpA are silly money, WRC even more. It has wrc hubs, tcas, compression struts etc but its got better geometry than the wrc constraints.
Has active centre diff and plated front and rear diffs. All still available on the shelf to buy at resonable money.

Not doing this year's NWS far too much of a hassle getting an entry due to its popularity.

    Be out and about somewhere.

Get some pics of the Escort out.

    Re: Out rallying again

I was abroad when entries opened for the north west stages. It had 111 entires in 10 mins!
I put entry in next day & was about 190th with 120 places available.

Thought ‘no probs, 25 entries reserved for protyre championship entrants’. Feckin 75 protyre entrants already before I entered.

Anyway, I’ve got a run. I’ve been moved to about 115th on the unseeded entry list. Probably because I’ve been a regular in the championship the last 2 years.

British championship forest events are struggling I believe, certainty not the case for closed roads tarmac!

    Re: Out rallying again

Its just a victim of its success, I don't see it as a bad thing. Be nice to have got to enter as its on my doorstep and promotes my company buy hey ho, no big deal.
The Clarke is of interest. Going to do a rally trackday at Angelsey in April for a shakedown, had a lot of changes since its last event.

Not sure my dampers are good enough for Otterburn just yet.

I think things will settle down as proper closed roads become ‘normal’ for tarmac.
I did Otterburn for the first time in 2018, thought it was much like epynt but a bit rougher tarmac

I like caerwent, very busy stages that drivers like but navigators often hate.
Lots of tight corners that throw the codrivers around like rag dolls

Some old in-car of mine from Caerwent.

I'll try to get someone to upload some photos of my Escort but it seems so difficult on this forum.

What dampers are you using on yours Mark? We have Proflex on ours fitted with Gravel rate springs.
