V6 Duratec

Im currently doing some research into which engine to fit into my mk1 Cortina. Ive done the rounds and looked at XE's, 24v cossies, Zetec etc etc and i got interested when i got the idea for a 24v Duratec. I asked some people on OldSkoolFord and i was directed onto here.

My main concern is what gearbox can i use? I believe the MX5 from the na and nb cars (mk1 + mk2) gearboxes will fit. If its as simple as that then great but if i need to start fitting adaptors and the like then im not sure if i want to. Anyone got any information on this please?

Best bet it to use the Jag version of this engine as its 3 litres, has all the early bugs ironed out, has 230bhp as standard and has rwd gearbox options More expensive to buy initially but a damn sight less faffing about.

i reckon the duratec v6 is the new one to have you can turbo and supercharge them try the ford contour owners forum loads of info there i'm just pondering on a turbo or a supercharger for my rear engined fiesta at the mo loads of headers etc i've got msds ceramic coated one good for 30 horses ???
