Receiving money from a international bank account? To the uk.

I'm selling my landrover and all been well I will have a guy here on Monday from the Netherlands to buy it, along with my trailer and tow it home.

he says he carnt get the amount in cash that quick so can he do a bank transfer.

Im aware that an International transfer take 4 days to arrive in my account.

ive been looking into other ways, if I take him to my bank to set the transfer up it's no different,

ive looked at PayPal, (not always a fan but) he can send me the payment as a gift and it should arrive instantly, with a small fee of 0.5% or similar,

anyone had any experience with this?

There is an option when making a banktransfer called "spoed" or in English urgent.
Cost a couple of euros maybe but think it is with you within a day.

I flew to Portugal to collect bits before as the guy
Wanted a bank transfer and I was un sure
I did how ever phone the bank and they said that once I had
Transferred the cash there is no getting it back
    So don't do it

But in your case that is good news
Maybe worth phoning the bank and check if a transfer
    Is safe for your item

How much is he spending ?

Can he send a deposit and bring the rest cash ?

Or just explain in simple terms....the vehicle does not leave you until funds are securely in your account. It isnt asking too much.

I've spoke with my bank and they said the same as in here, once he clicks send and it debits his account there is no reversing it. He's due to be with me tomorrow morning, I don't think he liked the idea of travelling from Holland with nearly 8k cash

He should be here tomorrow lunch time and all been well I will be taking him to the bank to set the transfer up.

I'm not completely sure how it would work as an international payment but online banking over here is instant. He could probably do it on a smart phone or even your pc if he has the log on details to his internet banking and the like. And if you have internet banking yourself too you would see it arrive in your bank aswell.

He is wanting to use my Pc to do it ect at my house so I can see every step and that his account has been debited with the correct amount to show it has gone.

There's nothing wrong with a little bit of caution Allandin, no one wants to be caught with their pants down. The buyer might be genuine but no one really knows. It's a minefield.

I would be inclined to say he is genuine bearing in mind he is prepared to come from overseas in person to collect the vehicle.

In the end he was a very nice genuine guy, money arrived when it was soposed to,

The fact he took 4 hours to look at it and go over it suggested he wasn't there to scam me,
