Hi mates, I have this situation: When I swap into my MK2 the 1600 X Flow to a 2.0 ltr Pinto engine, in order no to cut the sheet under the radiator, I build one specially, shorter enough to fit and twice deeper. Also i put in the front an electric push blower better than the older one. OK, everything goes OK when the car is in motion, but when I am in the starting grid the temperature raises quickly to about 100/110 ° F.
So I came to think what if I underdrive the crank pulley say 25% so as I have a slower water flow on the radiator to cool the water better. Of course I am thinking to put a restriction before the water enters the engine so as to keep the water flow speed as before. (Also I dont even know if this last part is necessary).
Please let me have your kind advices about this situation
Cheers
Eduardo
