    Zetec Turbo engine

I am actually building a 2lt silvertop zetec turbo engine for my mk2 escort. I need to lower the compression which can be done either by compression plates or changing the pistons. As I intend to keep the car for awhile and would like to make it abit future proof I've decided to fit forged pistons if possible. While snooping around i found these on ebay US:

What do you guys think? Could these be any good?

Try these guys for a full kit. JE pistons, rings and Eagle rods.
    About $795 US. low-comp and high-comp.

The guys you mentioned , I think i have had a bad experience with them. I paid and they advertised , but they had no parts!!!!!!!

Compression plates are the wrong way to do this as they give a terrible burn pattern. Although they do work to some extent. Go for proper pistons and you'll love it, good clean burn giving a properly running engine. Have a look at boost performance in Nottingham. They've done it. From what I've seen your better with the 1800 for forced induction. Theres some weakness that limits the 2L but I'm a bit vague on this so may need a little investigating. Best of luck.

C20LET (vauxal red tip turbo) pistons fit, but a slight overbore is needed - will take your zetec out to nearly a 2.1

plus they have the right shape piston due to being from a turbo anyway.

this is all hearsay but im almost 100% of this

c20let turbo pistons will fit the zetec if you get it over bored.

C20LET this was my plan but not seeing many about at the mo

Wouldnt do the decomp route as I want the engine to last so willing to pay to do it right first time.

    Re: Zetec Turbo engine

c20let will fit the zetec block a treat with a over bore which is about 86mm takes the cap up to around 2045cc
the pistons will run on the std rounds but the gudgeon pins need to be modded to fit pistons also will need apr rods bolts the std rods are good for about 280bhp max std crank good for 300bhp with performance bearings etc

there as been a few conversions like this on rs turbo's series one/two best people to speak to on those conversion with be jano oddkidd/jamie going jamsport/area six

those je pistons have been used on a few cars and have good results just make sure you ask the the silver top one's as the black top ones are different

another option is to buy a rs focus black top block as it runs forged psitons and rods and have seen around 380 bhp but also as the oil return in the block for the turbo
