fitting a quaife rack and pinion

I'm overhauling a few bits over the winter and I want to fit a 2.5 quaife rack and pinion.

Can anyone tell me if this a specialised job and if so, is there anyone on here who would build it up?

I have a standard ford rack for a mk2 escort for the kit!

    Thanks
    Terry

Tel,I fitted my 1st one when I was 19,so it can't be a hard job.I just followed the haynes manual. Mind you you could still get parts (bushes and shims) for them from your local Ford dealer when I was 19 .

I haven't touched one since 1996 but iirc there's a locking pin that needs to be drilled out in each end of the rack otherwise it's straight forward. Doesn't Barn off of here do racks?

Dont bother with the 2.5. Get a 2.2 instead
