Odd injector - supposed to be dark green

So I've ordered a replacement injector (Bosch dark green, 803 part number) to replace one that I suspect is not operating correctly (erratic idle, dropping from 4 pots to 3 and back again). When I've gone to replace the original, it's different and isn't a 803 part number.

Here's the new and old side by side:

New is a proper 280150803 as supplied this week by Brands Hatch Performance, the 4x old ones are 28015035.

Obviously they're different heights (both fit), but clearly I can't mix and match them as the fuel rail will be at an angle. Any ideas what those 'original' ones are? The chip supplied with the engine was for 803's (I've since replaced it with an MSD Evolution one); but a quick google for the injector part number doesn't bring anything back.

Found these part numbers, flow rates and resistance figures:

part num / cc per min / ohms
    0280150351 638 0.7
    0280150352 248 2.4
    0280150353 143 2.3
    0280150354 143 2.3
    0280150355 315 2.4
    0280150357 317 2.4

    Compared to a real 803:

    0280150803 381 4.6

That probably explains the odd running. No idea where these old 'dark green' injectors have come from; they're certainly not correct.

Okay, having taken out the other 3, it looks like they're 0280150355 - 315cc/min at 2.4ohm, versus the proper 381cc/min at 4.6ohm of dark greens.

Someone perhaps has taken a cheap shortcut to fitting bigger injectors, but they're clearly not the correct ones for an 803 type chip, either my current one, or the one that came fitted with it.

The 355 is originally from a Volvo 2.3; the 803 is from a Porsche 2.5 Turbo.

Thanks, 3x brand new 803's on the way. Hopefully that solves the problem.

Should have asked - I've a set of 4 (new) here I can't use due to the low impedance!

Cheers, I would have asked - I thought it was just the one I needed, had I know I was going to replace all four I probably would have put a post in the wanted section!

Hopefully I'll drop those new ones in and it will take care of the erratic running.

The 3x new 803 injectors were fitted today and the engine now runs on all 4 cylinders, so that's another one crossed off the long list of gremlins!

Re: Odd injector - supposed to be dark green

Probably, eventually. The chip from MSD was written for 803's, so it should run them fine. The other injectors that were in were actually lower rated, so that explains one reason why it wasn't running quite right.

At the moment I'm chasing an idle issue though, as soon as I plug in the (brand new) ISCV the idle goes haywire. Runs as sweet as a nut with it unplugged though.

I've done a fuel pressure test and very basic emissions test, but I want it the fuelling and everything else checking out properly before I drive it in anger.
