Yet another Cosworth N/A
Hi guys,
After a lot of thought I have decided to take on board your advise and build a N/A Cosworth.
I have a good source for the head but need advice on the bottom end.
Wossner do a 12:5 forged piston set Pt No: 9217) that comp ratio sounds a bit high to me. Not looking for crazy power and have experienced bad detination below that CR on local fuel. Any other suggestions on Pistons.
Will be using std pinto crank, how about rods? any suggestions? would rather not plane the block. Will standard inj rods be OK?
All help greatly apreciated.

Re: Yet another Cosworth N/A
i think most of the advise was DONT
one of the best bits about the yb bottom end is the rods, and you want to use pinto ones??!!! you can, but not only are they nothing like as strong, they are 1.5mm shorter than yb that will certainly drop the compression! they also use a press fit gudgen pin which doesnt really work with the pistons you want to use.
std pinto crank is well upto the task, given a couple of dowels in the flywheel

Re: Yet another Cosworth N/A
OK I know I would be better off tuning the existing pinto but really fancy a Cos N/A and I can get the head for nothing almost.
I see rods arent expensive so Cosworth rods on the list.
What do you think of these?
