    Pinto aux shaft bearing

    Does anybody know from where I can get new rear (small) bearings for the pinto aux shaft, Ford part 1554973? I have got two pinto blocks chemically cleaned, and the rear aux shaft bearing got damaged through this...

    there is only a bearing in the front, the rear is running in the block casting. The front one can be found at Burton and if you don't find one, it can be machined from a camshaft bearing (making shorter).

    good tip, clint at BHP has marhle ones in stock, they did become unavailable for a short while

    Ok, thanks, thats good News! We thought there used to be a bearing, as it appears in the parts catalog, # 18 in the attached pic, and it might had fallen out or something at the cleaning process.

    Honest, never seen this bearing. Maybe it's a replacement slave (bearing) in case the original casting failed?

    Like the special bearing Ford did installed in the T9 gearbox when the lower section gear shaft bearing failed. They machined the case and fitted a complete different bearing setup (usual a problem in 2,3 ltr diesel cars).
